We hope this helps

The bond that forms between a pet and human is truly unlike any other.  Your pet is your best friend, your comrade, your confidant, a member of the family - that is why it can be so difficult when the time comes to say goodbye.

FOREVER IN YOUR HEART

For many of us, losing a beloved pet is similar to losing a member of the family. A pet's daily presence, unique personality and companionship become an integral part family life, and the loss can be a traumatic change.
Pets give us non judgmental and unconditional love.
When the pet is gone, it is normal to have feelings of loss and to grieve. Losing a pet and the bereavement is not always understood by everyone, particularly those who do not have pets or don't have bonding relationships.
In addition to sorrow and loss, you might be feeling guilt, denial, anger and depression. These feelings are all normal and part of the grieving process. Dealing with the loss of a pet and saying goodbye is different for each of us.
Feel free to share and discuss your feelings.
We especially encourage children to express their feelings and emotions. If and when you decide you are ready to accept a new friend in your heart, we will be here, waiting to help

Coping with Pet Loss

1. It hurts. Folks who don't understand the pet/owner bond may not be able to relate, but your pain is valid.

2. Guilt, Denial, Anger and Depression are all feelings that are associated with the loss of a pet.

3. Talk about it so that you can work through your feelings and get a perspective that will help you understand how the loss of your pet is affecting you. Remember the good times.

4. If you have other pets, they may grieve also, this is normal.

5. If children are involved, be truthful and discuss the issue with the entire family and give everyone a chance to work thru the grief at their own pace.

A little birdy told me

WHEN TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME
When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, that an angel came and called me, to take me safely from your land. I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today,
I know how much you loved me, as much as I loved you.
I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad, and thought of all the love we shared, and all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday, just even for a while, I'd say good-bye and lick your face and maybe see you smile.
Alas I fully realize, that this could never be, and that the memories of the time we shared, would take the place of me. And when I thought of worldly things, I might miss; I thought of you, and when I did, my heart was filled with sorrow. Though there were times I did some things I knew I shouldn't do, I tried to be faithful, trusting and true.
So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart, For every time you think of me, I'm right there, in your heart.

Feel free to share a story, remembrance or memorial about your special friend.

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When a pet dies that has been especially close to someone here that pet goes on to the Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so they can play and run together.  There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.  All the animals that have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.  The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss that someone very special, someone who was left behind.

Then the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.  His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver.  Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster.  You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.  The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you once more look into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart.  Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together."~Author Unknown~
